Warner ’ s BBQ Bash

We have been hearing about Jim Warner ’ s BBQ Bash for a few years now . This year Judy had lots of projects to deliver to the Hammster ’ s and I had to bring a replacement ROG for a Hamm ’ s sign that I had printed for Dennis Lavoto . So us and the Bullock ’ s loaded up the car and headed North ., We got to Fridley and hit the Liqour store as there was a rumor of Genessee Cream Ale being available . Sure enough it was and I picked up a couple of cases . Five blocks up the street was Jim ’ s house and the party was in full swing . I drank my one can of Hamm ’ s and we jumped into the fray . There was about 25 or 30 people I ’ m guessing . Many of the usual suspects like Randy RenakerDennis Lovato , Randy Sewick , Brandon & Jason Rogers , Tony Hocking , Steve Miner and more . We met some new friends and enjoyed beers ( they had Grain Belt too ). Lindsay and Melissa Raditz BBQ ’ d the ribs , Jim did the pulled pork and the brisket . I must say some of the best BBQ I ’ ve had and the side dishes were excellent as well . You can ’ t beat great BBQ , Beer and Collector friends all in one backyard on a summer day . Some of the Hammster ’ s got Jim a nice Hamm ’ s growler for an appreciation gift . Judy and I made him and ROG sign for his basement bar . Ross and Mari Reno presented Barry Travis with printed tile that I designed and printed to thank him for all he does for the breweriana hobby . It was quite a day ! I will add some comments from Scott Lovelace of the Hamm ’ s Club regarding these kind of get togethers . I think his Facebook post sums up what the hobby should be about and something the Border Batch has always been about , sharing the hobby with friends . What good is a collection if you can ’ t share it with the people you love ? It ’ s fun to pursue breweriana of course , but it ’ s even better to put that aside , enjoy the things we have including our friends .
