BARRY WILL JUMP IN HERE WITH A REPORT ON SPRINGFEST
Like any show in Minnesota , it ’ s always a crapshoot with the weather . You could have bitter winds and snow , or a beautiful day for beer show . Just like it was the Saturday of Springfest . Because I was a table holder and seller of old old beer stuff , we were allowed to set up at 7 AM . One of the hidden secrets of being a dealer is to get a look at other dealers stuff , but you can ’ t sell anything when you are wandering around , so it ’ s a fine line .
I usually like to have a “ show maker ,” which is a higher dollar item that if sells , makes your show . This can also apply to a delicate or huge item that you ’ d love to get rid of , and not bring home .
It was great to see all of the usual faces , and especially some of the border batch crew . Fortunately for him , but unfortunately , ( for The Beer world and sellers ) the Terwilliger ’ s and Bullock ’ s were vacationing in sunny Florida . That ’ s why you ’ re getting the second-stringer writing this story .
Nobody really wants to have what they missed out on rubbed in their face , so they ’ ll be none of that here . And if you were there , you already know what a great show it was .
A great bonus is that it is adjoining the American Legion , which has great Mexican food . And also a wide variety of drinks . In fact , you would be proud to know that a bartender from the other side was busy lugging two more cases of Premium in with a smile . You know , they haven ’ t sold that much before noon , ever .
Spring and summer are on the horizon , so instead of reading about a show , I hope I can see you in person . Deal ? And since I was soooo busy selling stuff and talking to collectors , I will include some various beery-Barry pictures .
