Brewings Brewings Vol. 40 Issue 4 | Page 12

A day at the Brewery That’s what we decided to call it. What started to be a crisp nippy morning turned out to be pleasant sunny day. A couple venders were there when I got there at 9:00, and the rest of approximately 11 vendors showed up promptly after that. We were all set up and ready to go by the 10:00 am posted starting time. This was held in conjunction with one of the gift shop’s “Seasons at the Brewery” regular sales. They usually have them on weekends that also have events going on in New Ulm, as this weekend was Hermann’s Fest. If you don’t know the history of Hermann, be sure to look it up on New Ulm’s website. We set up with tables lining the entrance to the gift shop, which proved interesting for both visitors and vendors. We sold 30 plus raffle tickets to people we may have never reached before. Not surprisingly, most of those had never heard of us before, it was a good place for PR. Owners of the Brewery and gift shop, David Harmening and Jane Richert, were pleased to see the additional traffic. Several local residents that had seen our ad in the local Shopper, came seeking information or for appraisals of their “treasures” that had been in their home for years. One such person was Jerome Zitzman of rural New Ulm, that brought a nicely preserved 100 plus year-old framed art of a 1923 Val. Blatz Brewing Company advertising promotion. If you are interested in talking to Jerome, you can reach him at 507-276- 3235.
