Spanish Education and Culture
So , what is it like to study at Universitat de Vic ? “ In general I think that studying at UVic and the NHTV is quite similar . We have a lot of group work and lots of presentations which was also common at the NHTV . On the other hand - and this might sound a bit vague - we learn more about stimulating our own talents at UVic . The professors at UVic put a lot of effort into getting to know you and your personal strengths and talents .” Besides educational differences , we asked her if any cultural differences caught her attention . “ At first , I really had to get used to the time when the people in Spain have dinner , this is between 21:00 and 22:00 ! It caused me a sort of food jetlag and it took me a while to adapt to this habit . Furthermore there are actually no big cultural differences , besides the language of course .”
Late Nights in Spain
Obviously , you also need some relaxation . In other words : enjoy the vibrant night life ! “ There is one ‘ Erasmus bar ’ in Vic where all the Erasmus students go for a beer in the weekend ( and during the week ). Furthermore there are about four clubs in Vic . Once a month there is a " Unigresca ": a big student party in one of the clubs . These nights never end before 07:00 AM .” Party time !
Room and Expenses
You might wonder what she arranged before she left off to sunny Spain . All students got an e-mail from UVic with a list of apartments that were available . If only every university would be that helpful ... “ I was lucky enough to get one of the apartments . Other things that had to be arranged were subletting my room in Breda , arranging my Erasmus scholarship and my OV compensation .” Besides this , Coco mentioned that expenses are different in Spain . “ The rent and everyday life is relatively cheap compared to the Netherlands . I also got an Erasmus scholarship , so it was not really necessary to have a side job .”
Is it just us or does this destination start to sound better and better ?
