Nowadays, a lot
of people choose
to get a tattoo.
Some tattoos have
a meaning, some
are for fun, and
some are a mistake.
BREWED asked
students of the ADE
to see what kind of
tattoos they have,
and what the story is
behind them!

I LIKE MINIMALISM. That’s why I got two bands tattooed around my arm. Before I
actually got them, I changed my mind about it a lot. First I wanted two arms done,
later I switched back to one and that process went on for a while. Eventually,
it came down to the two bands that I have now and I have a funny story going
along with them.
So, my Stepdad designed a bone fracture
machine to simulate bone fractures
that normally don’t occur that often, like
skiing fractures. They use it to improve
the process of healing the fractures. To
test the machine, DONOR LIMBS are used.
Sometimes they are too long, so they
need to be shortened. To do this, they
use a magic marker to make a line on the
place where the limb needs to be cut off.
My stepdad then saws them with a bone
saw and makes them fit the prototype.

Of course, he wasn’t used to this,
and after a day of sawing in limbs,
he came home and HE SAW MY
TATTOOS. He immediately started
laughing, because it instantly re-
minded him of the limbs that he had
been sawing off all day.
