PAUW When the tour was over, it was time for the big happening. The PAUW show was about to start. We as the audience needed to be in the studio at 22:30, even though the show would only start at 23:00. I was one of the last guests to enter the studio and therefore I had to sit in front of the door. One of the producers came up to me and said: “You should sit very still because you are probably visible in the background quite a lot.” Because I am a very serious person, I started having contact with someone in the audience and tried to explain that I would be seen on tv using various hand gestures. SUDDENLY I FELT A HAND ON MY SHOUL- DER so I looked up and it happened to be Jeroen Pauw, the host of the show. He asked me “Hey, are you using sign language??” I WAS SO FLUSTERED when he said this that I could only react with “Noooo....” He really caught me at my best moment. Luckily we both laughed about it. When it was finally 23:00, it was SHOWTIME. We had to sit still and listen to the show, which was quite hard sometimes. It was very interesting, and things also got kind of heated at times. A good watch for all the Dutch speaking readers. You can watch the full episode, and maybe you can spot some fellow students! Overall, it went very smoothly and it was A REALLY COOL EXPERIENCE. I am super happy that I got this opportunity and would do it again! 8
