Members Get More!
N ow that your kids have gone through training in our Wildlife
Detective Academy in Paws On, it is time for them to hone their
skills at our new Wildlife Detective Field Station coming to Wild
Florida. We are inviting our members to be the first to experience
this area by offering a series of Member-only Preview Days
on November 17, 18, 24 and 25 and December 8, 9, 15, 16,
22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the last admission at 2
p.m. This is included with your membership and you will just
need to present your membership card to enter. We will open to the public
beginning December 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the last admission at 4 p.m.
Here is what you can expect:
Fossil Discovery & Prep Area
See and touch real fossils from Florida, like giant ground sloth
bones, mammoth, mastodon and ancient manatee bones.
Help the Zoo’s team of fossil sleuths prepare actual fossils
from here and around the world for display at the Zoo.
Dig Pits & Mining
Grab your pith helmet and tools so you can uncover fossils in our dig pits and go mining for real fossils at our sluice.
Solve Mysteries
We are adding all types of mystery activities for children of all ages to solve. In addition, we are one of the first zoos
to offer an “Escape Room” experience outside in nature. Similar to the indoor experience, we invite you to explore the
natural space around you while you search for clues, crack codes and solve puzzles along the way. This experience is
geared towards those 7 and older and limited space is available each day to participate.
