Cheetahs on the Move Sea Turtle Healing Center Big changes came to the cheetah yard when females Bria, Jaina and Yoda moved to other facilities, giving them the chance to reproduce. Three one-year-old males arrived earlier this year and are settling in nicely. Though we don’t breed them here, we play an important role in cheetah conservation by housing animals that aren’t yet ready to produce offspring. On February 10 and 11, we took in a remarkable 16 juvenile green sea turtles that were lethargic and covered in barnacles. Although we were already over capacity, we reconfigured our tanks to accommodate the two sickest patients and gave the rest a safe place to spend the night before they were transferred to rehabilitation centers in Orlando, Boca Raton and Miami.
