This year ’ s Safari Under the Stars ( SUS ) event was a runaway success ! Raising nearly $ 630,000 for the Zoo ’ s programs , our community once again demonstrated its commitments to excellence in animal wellness , conservation and education .
Bindi Irwin wowed audiences at the Saturday night fundraiser as well as a community engagement event that morning . Irwin shared her passion for conservation through engaging stories , video clips and anecdotes about her father , the late “ Crocodile Hunter ” Steve Irwin .
This year , SUS attendees contributed an astounding $ 126,000 to our animal wellness initiatives .
