Brevard Zoo Membership Newsletter Fall 2019 | Page 2

F all is traditionally the time for slowing down as winter approaches, but this fall at the Zoo will be anything but sluggish. In celebration of our 25th anniversary, we are making some exciting changes sure to enhance your Zoo experience. First, we are replacing the “original” bathrooms at the front of the Zoo with new facilities that include kennels for visiting dogs and family bathrooms on the outside of our gates. Second, we will be repaving the entry road and adding improved parking and a sidewalk. Third, we are freshening up food service at the front of the Zoo with updated ice cream, coffee and pizza offerings. And finally (and most importantly), Rainforest Revealed—our most ambitious exhibit to date—will be opening on November 16; this revisioning of our Latin American loop will take you from the forest floor up into the canopy and down to the depths of the Amazon River. This is just the start of some exciting years ahead of us. Our train is getting a refresh with a new locomotive, cars and track; and lions are headed to the Zoo in 2021. And if you haven’t heard, we’re working on a new Port Canaveral campus to house a world- class aquarium and conservation center. So thank you for 25 years of support in making this all possible. See you at the Zoo!
