Protecting Pollinators Keep gardens thriving Nearly 70% of the world’s flowering plants, including more than two-thirds of crop species, rely on pollinators for reproduction (source: Xerces Society, 2014). This fact alone makes this incredibly diverse group of animals important to both our ecosystems and economies. We started with butterflies back in 2006, focusing on providing educational opportunities in and around the Zoo.
