“Brendan the Betrayer!” boomed Aetario as he blasted another innocent into nonexistence. “I can’t say I’m surprised it was here I found you.’ Aetario floated down to meet his
foe eye to eye. Brendan stopped dead in his tracks, and I did as well.
“Don’t go near him,” I pleaded. “He’ll kill you.”
“I can’t run anymore, my friend, I must face him as a man.” Brendan kissed me sweetly
on the lips and walked towards Aetario.
“Well, Aetario, you have found me at last. Finally -Aetario didn’t even let him finish his sentence before he wrought the power of The Father
against him, and just like that Brendan was nothing. As if he had never existed at all… gone
forever, with no way to return. My head became a pit of anger and I could feel streams of tears
run down my cheeks. Never had I known such loss, such pain. I closed my eyes tight, but there
wasn’t even the blackness of my mind to comfort me, only a blinding red light. My limbs
shivered and shook with adrenaline, and my fingers closed into a fist. Before I could even think
about how stupid what I was about to do was… I did it. I was atop the feared bounty hunter
Aetario Atomcruncher and gave no fucks at all. I pounded at his face like chimp, endlessly,
relentlessly, and with a fervor unlike I had ever seen in myself. My fists were soon too bloody to
land a proper punch, so I leaned in close and began to tear his flesh with my teeth. Aetario
Atomcruncher’s screams were sweeter than the finest honey.
Aetario tried to push me off, but he had lost too much blood to use any real strength
against me. I gnawed at him till I felt the bone of his skull, and even then I continued to bite. I bit
and swallowed and wailed till I could feel my belly ache with fullness. Soon Aetario didn’t even
resist, he just let me have my feast. My vengeance.
