Introduction and value of the section
Breastfeeding has tremendous health advantages for both mother and baby . However , not everyone is prepared , educated or supported when it comes to breastfeeding . By providing parents with valuable information and resources , they will have the best chance at a successful breastfeeding relationship .

• Parents will understand the steps they can take to help get breastfeeding started off right .
Goals • Parents will understand the basic principles of breastfeeding ,
including the importance of immediate contact with baby at birth , feeding on demand , the importance of a good latch and how to evaluate how well baby is feeding .
