Fragmented equipment sector raises new risks for project logistics

The shift from a handful of dominant global heavy-lift equipment providers to a more fragmented market of regional specialists and new entrants is reshaping how risk is managed across complex transportation projects, according to engineering and transportation experts.

“ The heavy-lift industry used to be more static,” Hagen Hennig, president of dteq Transport Engineering Solutions, told the Journal of Commerce.“ You had big players, and those big players had been there for a while.”
