Surging energy cargo demand brings greater compliance burden

A nascent boom in the transport of new power-related technologies, such as large-scale battery energy storage system( BESS) units, is placing a higher compliance burden on project logistics professionals, from dangerous goods regulations and port processes to biosecurity and onsite safety requirements.
Regulators and government authorities are restricting approval pathways, and shippers expect more documentation, more transparency, and greater control over risk, Colin Charnock, group CEO of forwarder Trans Global Projects( TGP), told the Journal of Commerce.
