When did you decide to open HomeMadeSoul Music to other artist ?
In 2015 , I started to realize that there are so many artist who didn ’ t know about the many opportunities that I was indulging in for my own music . I collaborated with Zech Wilson to develop a strategy on how to reach out to artist and what to offer .
What is the direction you would you like to see the company go in the future ?
The company is headed towards representing hundreds of artists and ensuring that they develop their business structure as well as help them develop their talents , crafts , and reach whatever goals they are trying to reach . The goal is to help creatives maintain the power that they already have .
What are some mistakes artist can make when submitting music for placement ?
One mistake is not having different versions of a musical work . When you record a song , the finished product should include : the full song / instrumental / clean version / karaoke / acapella / loop sections / stings / 60 , 30 , 15 sec versions . That ’ s a possible 10 extra compositions that now give you two things , more works in your catalogue , and more chances to get music placements .
Congratulations on being a lead panelist at the ECMC ( East Coast Music Conference ) What other things are in store for the conference ?
I appreciate that ! The conference will also feature an Expo in which vendors that cater to the creative arts will be available . There are street performances , and main stage performances . There is also live music videos being made by artists , and a contest for those music videos being made .
How many songwriters , producers and artist work with the company ?
We currently have 16 signed artists and producers . We consider them partners and also any artist who we connect with on collaborations who may not be signed with us .
