Jason Kosofsky is a Senior Global Brand Protection Investigator for Ford Motor Company . He has over 15 years of experience in combating automotive counterfeiting and Intellectual Property enforcement . He is a Board Member and Communication Chair of the Automotive Anti-Counterfeiting Council ( known as “ A2C2 )”, a collaboration of 11 automotive manufacturers focusing joint efforts to eliminate counterfeit automotive parts posing a safety risk to consumers . Jason is a graduate of Northwood University .
Denise Mosteller is the Senior Brand Protection Manager for Implus Footcare , LLC , manufacturer of multiple brands specializing in footwear , fitness products and recreational accessories . She has over 22 years of investigation , brand management and intellectual property experience . Denise has participated in hundreds of criminal and civil investigations involving everything from tiny online sellers to the biggest Chinese manufacturers and has worked with various law enforcement agencies to facilitate the arrest of numerous counterfeiters . In her current role , Denise has established policies and procedures to handle gray market goods and unauthorized sellers on eCommerce marketplaces , especially Amazon . In the first year of this initiative , Denise was able to remove 90 % of unauthorized Amazon merchants ; over 1400 unique sellers . Denise holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis .
PRODUCT COUNTERFEITING AND THE CONNECTION TO OTHER ILLICIT ACTIVITIES
INTRODUCTION
Alex Khu is currently an Assistant Director with Homeland Security Investigations ( HSI ) and the Director of the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center . In this position , he is responsible for the oversight of HSI ’ s national programs related to trade enforcement and intellectual property . Prior to this assignment , Mr . Khu served as the Special Agent in Charge ( SAC ) for HSI St . Paul with an area of responsibility ( AOR ) that included the States of Minnesota , Iowa , Nebraska , and North and South Dakota . While serving in this capacity , Mr . Khu was also the Federal Coordinator for Super Bowl 52 , for which he provided leadership and engagement with the National Football League as well as over 3,000 law enforcement and public safety personnel from the federal , state , and local levels . Mr . Khu has been in federal law enforcement for over 20 years and has extensive experience in combatting transnational crimes . Mr . Khu began his career in law enforcement as a Special Agent with the U . S . Customs Service . In this capacity , he worked narcotics smuggling and financial investigations , as well as applying emerging technologies in cyber based investigations . Mr . Khu has held several key management positions in the field as well as Headquarters , including Group Supervisor , at ASAC San Jose over Counter Proliferations ; Section Chief and Acting Unit Chief at the ICE Cyber Crimes Center , where he was responsible for national level programs and policy on cybercrimes , computer forensics , training , and child exploitation ; Unit Chief of Undercover Operations where he was responsible for training , policy , and covert assets ; the Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the HSI DC field office with oversight of Human Trafficking , Child Exploitation , Financial , Drug Smuggling , Transnational Gangs , Investigative Services , and Undercover Operations ; and Deputy Special Agent in Charge , HSI DC where he was responsible for seven offices comprised of approximately 200 employees , including Special Agents , analysts and support personnel . In 2015 , Mr . Khu served as the Deputy Federal Coordinator for the World Police and Fire Games and provided communications , tactical and logistical support during the events . Prior to law enforcement , Mr . Khu worked as a Supervisory Financial Analyst in private industry . Mr . Khu has a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from George Mason University . Mr . Khu is a member of the Senior Executive Service .
