INTRO TO GOLF COMING IN APRIL POLAR BEAR OPEN WINNERS Congratulations to the teams of Jerry Scott and Steve Lawler as well as Paul Calhoun and Ted Harden. These two man teams overcame the challenges of their opponents, the challenging format, and the chilli conditions of the 2014 Polar Bear Open. Congratulations to these gentlemen and thank you to all who participated! JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY UPCOMING CLINICS Beginning Thursday, March 6 at 3:30 pm we will have a clinic/demonstration for the Junior Golf Academy. The Junior Academy is for those juniors who want to learn the great game of golf with players of their own skill level. On Thursdays, starting on March 13 and running through April 24, there will be a class from 3:30 – 4:15 pm and a class from 4:30 – 5:15 pm. The cost of this clinic will be $125 per child. This will be a fun learning environment where the juniors will learn the fundamentals of golf. Please call the Pro Shop at 601-271-2010 and reserve your junior’s spot today! Founder’s Cup Saturday, April 12th This is an introduction to golf and all the fine nuances that make this game GREAT! This clinic-styled instruction is for energetic beginners of all ages. This clinic will begin at 10:00 am on Saturdays and will run through the month of April. The cost of the clinic is $65 per student. Please sign up in the Pro Shop. PLEASE FIX YOUR BALLMARK This time honored event held on Master’s Saturday is to recognize Dr. York for his contribution not only for creating Canebrake Country Club and neighborhood but also to thank him for improving the lives of all who live in and around the Hattiesburg area. This GREAT event starts with breakfast at 8:00 am and shotgun at 9:00 am and ends with a Crawfish Boil at the pool. Prizes will be awarded at the pool for the 1st place team who keeps the Augusta Ball, 1st and 2nd for individual A, B, C & D players as well as 1st place for the team that lost their Augusta ball. Players are welcome to bring one guest to the Crawfish Boil. Please sign up in the Pro Shop! William Carey College Invitational Support the Crusaders William Carey College Invitational will be held March 17-18. The ladies team will defend their win from the fall tournament and the men’s team will pose a home field advantage over the field. Please come out and support the Crusader Golf Team. If you are interested in meeting some of the players and becoming part of Crusader Nation, there is a College Amateur event on Friday, March 15 with a 1:00 pm shotgun. Conversely, if you were to leave the ballmark alone or use the prongs of your ballmark repair tool to push up the dirt under the ballmark it will take 7 to 10 days to recover.
