Brain Storm Issue III: The Road to Recovery | Page 26

This self-portrait was inspired by poet Sylvia Plath’s only novel, the Bell Jar: “Wherever I sat—on the deck of a ship or at a street café in Paris or Bangkok—I would be sitting under the same glass bell jar, stewing in my own sour air”. I have so much love and beauty in my life, but when I'm depressed, none of it can reach me. I’m trapped inside myself, there’s a thick glass barrier between the outside world and myself.
