Managing a Sunday League football team was never going to be easy. Throw in the high standards that the Fire Birds had already set for themselves along with the sometimes juvenile nature of some of the players and you have yourself a equation for success that even Einstein would struggle with.

Andrew Tomlinson took over the reins of Bradford Phoenix Football Club during the 2012/13 season following the departure of the previous manager. The ‘Gaffa’ had been enjoying time on the side lines watching the lads play and assisting with coaching when, without warning, he was thrust in to the hot seat of the most challenging job in Sunday League Football.

The Manager role is not one that many people envy, as the list of duties below across the time and effort that is required just to get the team on the pitch.

In return, all the ‘Gaffa’ asks for is that the lads respond to messages in a timely fashion, turn up to training / matches on time and PAY THEIR SUBS!
