Prioritising and Tuning out
I don’ t have time to do anything else:(
Of course, your life outside school will be affected! However, that doesn’ t mean you need to give up your activities! The key to surviving this aspect of the BPTC is planning and prioritising.
I found it very helpful to keep a diary so I would always be aware of my timetable changes. I also always ensured that I planned my social activities or extra-curricular activities one week ahead. However, in order to have this kind of discipline, I must emphasise that you cannot under any circumstance, procrastinate your work. If you have time to do it, do it immediately. Don’ t fall into the temptation of travelling over your four weeks worth of Christmas and Easter holidays: those weeks are vital in ensuring you catch up with whatever you’ ve fallen behind on.
My school had this habit of conducting classes solely revolving around material not found in the syllabi. It was those classes I missed so I could take a break from all the work in the course. I also made it a point to be conscious of the fact that I must have enough attendance to make up for potential family emergencies requiring me to skip classes for a few weeks.
