STUDY SMART AND HAVE
GOOD FRIENDS
The BPTC requires high level of concentration and effort.
While your friends party into the night on a weekend, you can
party too but with your books and laptop. If I could go back to
day 1, I would have gotten started on making notes and
preparing for tutorials (known as small group sessions or SGS
in BPTC) as soon as I got them. Advance preparation helps to
give you more time to prepare for other modules that may
require more attention for the weeks to come.
But I was an idiot and did NONE of that. Instead, I relied
heavily on very, very good friends (whom I owe a lot of
favours now) to provide help in preparing for the SGS. You
can try that too, but make sure to return the favour when you
can because at the end of the day, you all pass or fail the Bar
together. I was incredibly fortunate to have had a support
system that helped me to work between different
commitments.
