It means you’re probably considering undertaking
the BPTC or are a few months short of beginning
it. If you are in the latter category, congratulations
on graduating! You are a few steps closer to
becoming a full-fledged qualified lawyer!
The next step - if you’re not undertaking the CLP,
is of course, the BPTC! I’m sure in getting to where
you are today, you’ve heard some pretty horrible
stories regarding this course. I certainly remember
feeling frightened listening to the stories of
sleepless nights, demanding lecturers and strict
marking standards.
However, the same seniors who related these
tales of horror to me also did something incredibly
valuable: they gave me an enormous number of
tips on how to get through this course in one
piece. I must say, if it weren’t for my very kind
seniors, I would not have made it through- special
shout out to Yap Sze Yinn and Callie Yeo who
provided much of the advice below!
So, how does one thrive in the BPTC?
