If you’re set on becoming a barrister, BPP Law School’s Bar Professional
Training Course (BPTC) provides the best possible training. We offer
thirty per cent more advocacy than the minimum Bar Standards Board
(BSB) requirement, advocacy and conference sessions are taught in
groups of four and we have true-to-life mock trials and assessments.
In addition, our Careers Service pulls out the stops to help you
secure a pupillage.

Entry requirements
All applicants will be required to pass the Bar
Course Aptitude Test (BCAT)
English Language
All students must be fluent in English and should
be able to demonstrate that their oral and written
language ability is at least equivalent to:

Subsequent to being admitted to the BPTC,
should BPP consider that your language ability is
unsatisfactory or there is question as to whether
any aspect of it is at the required level, we may
require you to take one of the above language tests
at any stage in the course (at the student’s cost) and
achieve the required score. This right is unrestricted
regardless of first language and the outcome of any
Skype interview before registration.

The BSB believes that compliance with one of the
standards identified above is the absolute minimum
necessary to successfully complete the BPTC.
You should hold an equivalent to:
