Of the teenage variety . “ Invite some friends over , have a sleepover ,” I said to my son . How naïve I was ! I thought setting up the tent in the garden would ensure my house remained intact , but no ! Five teenage boys , with long limbs and insanely deep voices , wreaked havoc on my somewhat neat home . Having strewn their belongings all over the garden they then attacked my house – devouring everything in sight . Room by room they left a lynx scented trail of destruction . But they laughed , they played , they talked , and they were polite , friendly , and happy . Despite the chaos , their joy was infectious . Yes , I am still finding the odd sock and sweet wrappers down the side of the chair , but it was worth it to see them having such a good time .

CONTENTS :

One more sleep and we ’ re off on holiday ! It ’ s our first time abroad in many years , and I ’ m both nervous and excited . I still haven ’ t packed , which , from experience , means I ’ ll pack , then unpack when I realize I ’ ve packed for a month , and finally repack with a more reasonable amount of clothes ( half of which probably won ’ t even be worn !).
