The Man in the Moon Came down too soon and asked his way to Norwich . He went by the South and burned his mouth by eating cold plum porridge .
No one knows quite why he came down too soon , but here are some things we all know about the moon :
It ' s made of green cheese but sometimes it ' s blue ; Its river is wider than a mile ; When it ' s full it turns people mad , men into werewolves , and more people go to A & E with broken wrists ( I can confirm that ); The Hunter ' s Moon is also for the Lovers .
On May 10th , the choir will be presenting our Spring concert at the Methodist Church in Hemel ( more information in next month ' s mag .). The atmosphere at rehearsals is buzzing . As always , Musical Director , Rufus Frowde , has chosen some wonderful music , including swing numbers from the 1930 ' s , on the theme of the moon and romance .
We are rightly known as ' the friendly choir '. If you ' re looking to join a vibrant and exciting choir with a charismatic leader then look no further . We sing a mix of music from Bach to the Beatles and from early music to bang up to date .
We meet at the Church of the Resurrection on Tuesday mornings in term time . Our rehearsals run from 9.45 to 11.35am . There are no auditions , all are welcome , just come along to any rehearsal and give us a try .
See our website www . dacorumcommunitychoir for more information and how to join us and our Facebook page for photos and up to date news .
We can offer you Moonlight Serenade , Let ' s Face the Music and Dance , Fly me to the Moon , Blue Moon and the lyrical Moon River .
They are great to sing and we look forward to sharing them with you later in the Spring . On April 10th we ' ll be at the Evergreen Club in King ' s Langley and no doubt will give some of them their first performance .
In November 2029 , DCC will have been in existence for twenty years and outline plans are already in place for a celebration , including the composition of a new piece by Rufus .
Thirty turned up for our first rehearsal and we have gone from strength to strength since then , with now more than a hundred on our books . Inevitably we have lost members over the years , but I think it is a tribute to the family we are that many of us attended the funerals of three in January .
