Meadow Sweeping
MEADOW SWEEP AND BUG HUNT Monday 27 July 2026: 9:30am-11:30am Monday 3 August 2026: 1pm-3pm The Old Barn, Westbrook Hay Join our Rangers for fun in the meadows sweeping for insects and bug hunting under logs, exploring for creatures. Each participant requires a ticket. This session involves a small amount of walking to get to the different locations of the activities. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear suitable for walking on uneven ground and muddy fields.( Suggested donation £ 5.00)
INTERACTIVE MOTH SESSION Monday 3 August 2026: 9am – 10:30am
Gadespring Cressbeds, Old Fishery Lane, Hemel Hempstead Join us for an exciting morning of moth discovery. We ' ll be opening our moth traps from the previous night to see what fascinating species have been attracted. You ' ll have the opportunity to get hands-on with moth identification, learn about their remarkable life cycles and behaviours and see some beautiful species up close.( Suggested donation £ 5.00)

Join us to enjoy river dipping in the side stream at Gadespring. Find out about the amazing creatures that live in the river and learn about the importance of chalk streams. This session is available to children and adults, not suitable for children under the age of 5. Please book a ticket for each person. There will be a short walk as part of this event. WELLIES are required for this activity.( Suggested donation £ 5.00)

Thursday 27 August 2026: 1pm-2pm or 2.15pm-3.15pm The Old Barn, Westbrook Hay
Join us to enjoy some pond dipping at our Old Barn pond and learn about the fascinating creatures that live in and around it. This session is available to children and adults. Not suitable for children under the age of 5. Please book a ticket for each person attending as space is limited around the pond.( Suggested donation £ 5.00)
