In the blink of an eye
January has come and gone , and now February is here . I ' ve spent the month battling to shed the half a stone I gained over Christmas . It ' s funny how it takes just a week to gain 8lbs but four weeks later , I ' ve only managed to lose 4lbs . I refuse to give up hope , however . I ' ll keep my fingers crossed and hope for a miracle when I step on the scales in the morning - maybe those last 4lbs will magically vanish overnight ! Begrudgingly , I ' ve managed to stick with my swimming routine , even though these cold , dark mornings don ' t exactly motivate me to jump in the pool .
