So Much for a Quiet Month!
August seems to be booking itself solid- there’ s something happening most days, and the calendar keeps getting added to. The latest addition is especially lovely: we’ re re-homing four rescue hens at the start of the month. I love watching the rescue hens getting used to their home and becoming more confident. I imagine it won’ t take long until I am shooing them out of the house.

Then, at the other end of the month, I’ ll be having knee replacement surgery. It’ s a bit daunting, I won’ t pretend otherwise- but honestly, the thought of eventually being pain free gives me hope.
Anyone who knows me knows I thrive on lists. And right now I have an entire notebook dedicated to pre-surgery and post-surgery planning- some are useful, some are purely for comfort, some are completely unnecessary and all are colour-coded!

A quick note before I finish... Sadly, we don’ t have a Dacorum Community Choir article this month. The lovely Sally- who’ s been delighting us with her choir updates for years- is currently unwell. She was disappointed not to contribute this time around, but we both agreed her health absolutely comes first. We’ re keeping our fingers crossed she’ ll be back on her feet for next month’ s edition.
Have a wonderful month,
Emma
