In April 2026, Hertfordshire County Council will release Heath Barn( the Grade II listed building on St Johns Road, Boxmoor) to the open market for two months. This means private developers. And it could mean the loss of over 500 years of community history for one of Boxmoor’ s oldest and most loved buildings.
UNLESS WE CAN SHOW THEM SOMETHING STRONGER.
We’ ve been given a rare opportunity: a window to present a viable, community-led alternative- backed by real support and meaningful fundraising. And we are grabbing it with both hands.
This is a once-in-a-generation chance for the people of Hemel Hempstead to write the next chapter of Heath Barn’ s story.
£ 250,000 may sound like a big number- but for a community of thousands, it’ s within reach. Our vision is to create a vibrant, welcoming space in Boxmoor- somewhere people love to visit, connect, and spend time. A place that truly belongs to the community.
