"To me it feels great to get back into the ring," Peterson said. "The layoff did not hurt me because I've been in the gym training like I was going to fight for the past year.

"I don't believe in ring rust. A fighter fights and that's what I do. But one good thing with the time off is that I have been able to rest my body and work on fine tuning my skills. I'm ready to fight now."

Like every fight two men will be entering the ring come February 22nd and although Lamont Peterson is at the forefront of the boxing world’s attention at the moment, one man who is happy to slip under the radar is his opponent, the talented but unpredictable Kendall Holt. The New Jersey slugger, who is coming off an 11 month layoff himself after shoulder surgery, is more than confident it will be he who is making the headlines after the bout.

more than confident it will be he who is making the headlines after the bout.

"My shoulder is 100% healthy and I feel fantastic. The explosiveness is there and I’m punching harder than ever. Now that I’m back punching at full strength, I feel more than confident in my ability to back up my opponents. I feel like a whole new man."

The February 22nd bout proposes to be a fantastic match up. In one corner Kendall Holt could be fighting for his boxing future in what could be his last chance to regain a world crown. In the other you have undoubtably the most controversial boxing figure in the past year making his long awaited return.
