Horsing Around in the Maranoa
The dry times have put a stop to many horse and stock related events this year but October promises a return of
equine action to the Maranoa. Don’t miss out on all the campdrafting, rough-riding and racing action on offer this
October around the region.
Get the month off to a bucking good start with the Tooloombilla Spring Draft, Bulls and Broncs. The Campdraft will
run Saturday and Sunday and feature a ‘Maiden 4 Maiden’ draft open only to maiden horses and riders, plus the
regular Novice, Maiden, Junior, Juvenile and Mini Drafts.
On Saturday night a great rough stock program of bucking bulls, bucking horses and poly saddle ride promises
thrills and spills under lights. Full bar and canteen will operate all weekend with proceeds going to the Royal Flying
Doctor Service. To find out more see page 6 or visit the Tooloombilla Rodeo and Campdraft Facebook page.
The rodeo action doesn’t stop there with Injune hosting the Megg’s Brazier Memorial Rodeo the following weekend
on Saturday October 12, 2019. Gates open at 12pm for a 2pm start. Bar and canteen will be available and Russell
Dewhurst is going to provide entertainment until late. Head along and support all the talented cowgirls and cowboys
as they go head-to-head at the Injune Rodeo Grounds. For more information see page 6 or visit the Injune Rodeo
Association’s Facebook page.
