Noonga Youth
Noonga youth have been very busy this
month. Payton Leahy with her Miles High Year
10 hospitality class attended H.O.T.E.L school
at Sea World Nara resort, and received a “Star
Performer” award for her work at the work-
experience camp. Payton then signed up for a
Cert3 in Hospitality at the Windsor Hotel, an
important step on her path to becoming a
chef. Payton then travelled to Rockhampton
where she where she qualified in 2nd place
for U/17 girls South region tennis team and
was invited to compete at the Tennis QLD JDS
state finals.
Corey and Payton Leahy had a great awards
night at Miles State High. Corey was awarded
Year 9 Dux and took home a Silver Sports
Award (orienteering), Distinction in Academic
Excellence, and subject award for Maths,
Engineering Principles and Systems. Payton
received a Silver Sports Award for Tennis and
Touch football, and a Credit Merit.

Making waves in Brangus breeding
Young Noonga man Henry Sinnamon is
making great progress in the beef industry
with his Kulkyne Brangus Stud and entered
the selling-ring for the first time on September
6 at the Roma Brangus Sale. Henry has been
breeding registered seedstock since 2011 and
supplying tough Brangus bulls throughout
South West Queensland for over a decade,
selling at the Roma
