Last drinks at Mucka Pub
(for now)
The Muckadilla Hotel destroyed by fire some
months ago was farewelled before demolition
by the local community with a Last Drink. Oh
what an evening it was! Around 70 people
attended, especially a lot from the 25-45 age
group who of course led the older more
‘sensible’ folk astray. There were a number of
reports of wobbly boots and sore heads as a
result of this event. It was great to see so
much support for the Last Drink and shows
there is a good customer base for the new
hotel. Demolition of the old buildings began in
November.
Remembrance Day
Muckadilla
The Muckadilla Remembrance Day Service
saw those available on a work day to assist in
the Service and attend a luncheon. Real
poppies grown from seeds obtained from by
the Roma RSL Sub Branch some years ago
along with fresh Rosemary was laid by Donna
Sutton. President of the Muckadilla
Community Association Shannon Crocker led
the Service and Jennifer Crocker was guest
speaker.
Wallumbilla
Three Freemason Lodges in the Maranoa
were represented at the 2019 Wallumbilla

Wallumbilla State School in conjunction with
the Corona Freemasons Lodge 318 of
Wallumbilla organised the 2019 Wallumbilla
Remembrance Day Service at the Wallumbilla
War Memorial. The Prayer, Poem and Bugler
came from the Wallumbilla State School. The
Flag Controller was Bill Vierveyzer, the Ode
was led by former Army National Serviceman
Noel Whincop and the Speech, on the theme
of wearing a red poppy, was given by David
Bowden.
Charging station for RMA
The need for phone charging facilities at
Roma has now been met thanks to Origin. As
luck would have it they had a charging station
normally used at Community Events. After
discussion, a three month trial has been
arranged, with positive reports coming from
travellers already.
