(5 Tips to Help Busy Moms Get Healthy Continued)

Tip #5: GET MOVING

It's important to get moving each and every day since many of us have jobs that tie us to a desk or to a certain room for many hours each day. There are many easy ways to start integrating movement into your day. I challenge you to try a few of these suggestions:

1.Take a daily walk: Have your spouse, partner, friends or kids tag along so you can spend quality time together and get some exercise in.

2.Ditch the Elevator: Pressing the up button burns far fewer calories than walking up a few flights of steps. Plus, some elevator banks are so slow, you might even beat the elevator to your desired floor.

3.Go the Long Way / Park Farther from the Front Door: I bet you've heard this one a million times but you have to start somewhere, right? Get in those extra steps whenever and wherever possible.

4.Walk During Your Kid’s Activities: Do your kids have sports practices, dance/music lessons, karate, clubs/activities, etc that leave you sitting in the waiting room? Instead of waiting, lace up your sneakers and walk around the block, up and down the stairs, and/or around the surrounding area. You can log in a few thousand steps in just 30-45 minutes. Invite the other parents to join you as it's always fun to have a workout buddy.

5.Join an Online Fitness Group: Don't have time for the gym? No worries! There are tons of online groups that can help provide you with support, motivation and accountability. You can workout at home in just 30-minutes a day and get incredible results. I lost almost 30 pounds this way! Groups range from free general chat rooms to groups you need to buy a product to join but most costs are comparable to monthly gym membership fees.

I hope you have found these tips helpful. Try starting one each week and in 5 short weeks, you will be living a much healthier lifestyle. You can do it, I know it!!!!
