Letter from the Editor
Hey Girl, Hey! Welcome to the April 2015 issue of BOSSY! Magazine. I'm so happy to be delivering our fifth issue! Wow, I can’t believe it.
The entire reason for starting this magazine was to help encourage and celebrate other women. I have in my circle and continue to meet such amazing, brilliant, fabulous women making big moves, bossy moves in their careers and I just want to give them a round of applause. I also want to reach out to women who want to pursue an entrepreneurial venture, who want to start their own business and need a little hand. In addition, we would like to mentor and guide teen girls so that one day they can be future bosses. This has inspired our new non-profit company Boss Moms Inc. encompassing the Boss Moms Networking Group which provides workshops, lectures, networking events and resources for women business owners and entreprenuers. Also, there is the Bossy! Girls mentorship program which will incorporate a year round program guiding teens in various areas including social etiquette, financial and physical fitness, sex education, and college preparation to name a few. Bossy!Girls grow up to be BOSSY!
There will be plenty information coming soon if you'd like to volunteer, donate, or in any way take part in this initiative. For more information contact [email protected]
We have a great issue for you this month and I can't wait for you all to meet Daphne Carter. She's a mom, wife, and nurse-turned-businesswoman juggling it all, fantastically. Take a look at what you missed at the Emerging Designers showcase with David Smith's Monroe collection. Our Style Watch team hit Sunny West Palm Beach for the Eminent by Buera show and you can get a peek at some of the #BossyApproved looks! Managing editor Micheale Washington talks Lupus awareness, and living with America's least recognized major disease affecting minority women, (a cause close to the BOSSY! team’s heart.) All this and much more so keep your head, heels and standards high and stay BOSSY!
