Am I getting what I need?
This is the most important of all the questions before you consider polyamory and one you should continue to ask throughout the relationship. If you’re not satisfied before you enter a polyamorous relationship then it is important to be mindful of what changes - and what doesn’t when you’re in one. It’s common to say “you can’t pour from an empty cup” but if you are trying to keep 2 or more cups full and you’re not being refilled everyone is going to die of thirst. The beauty and thrill of love is great but we have to be practical too – if it isn’t feeling us, feeding us and nourishing us –it’s draining us and at a potentially faster rate.
Polyamory can be a wonderful, liberating and fulfilling way to experience and share love but only if you enter it with your eyes wide open and in full honesty with yourself and with your chosen partners. Explore wisely, observe closely and love freely.
