The Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season can be an amazing time of the year. Whenever we think of the holidays, our first thoughts are about the menu. Face it, food and drinks are central to the laughter and memories created by our holiday gatherings. My lifetime memories of holidays spent with family and friends are centered on the fantastic Caribbean and Southern food shared with my family and friends. The foods we prepare during this time of the year are a reflection of our heritage and express the love and journey of our ancestors. I was blessed to be the child chosen to share treasured time in the kitchen with my grandmothers who were both excellent cooks. These beautiful women allowed me to sit and watch as we had special conversations where they lovingly passed down their wit and recipes to me.
