08 09 World leaders in sugar process technology Bosch Trading delivers more than just equipment Over the past 20 years Bosch Projects’ Equipment division has developed an extensive range of sugar processing equipment. This equipment is mostly developed in-house through our dedicated research and development division and has input from our vast network of experienced associate sugar consultants and technologists. Bosch Trading, a division of Bosch Engenharia, provides a critical service to the sugar and ethanol sector in Brazil and Central America, through the supply of engineering components for mills and various projects. Our patented and world leading Continuous Vacuum Pan (CVP) design has become a trusted favourite amongst many of the world’s biggest sugar processing groups. When supplying a CVP for C boiling’s, we prefer to offer the full C station, which includes the CVP, Continuous Vertical Crystaliser and the Continuous Massecuite Reheater. This way we can guarantee the client a high total C station exhaustion. The Bosch Projects reheater is unique in that it is vertically orientated. The majority of massecuite reheaters are horizontally orientated. Performance of a vertical reheater is considerably better than that of a horizontal unit as the massecuite rises as it is heated, thus following natural convection tendencies. Horizontal reheaters often have overheated channels of massecuite near the top and static cool areas at the bottom. Since its establishment in 2017, the company has clocked-up sales of over US $108,000 which is quite an achievement in a highly competitive, price-focused sector. According to the Bosch Trading team, their success can be attributed to a special focus on meeting customers’ exact requirements and making sure service levels are of the highest standard in every part of their business. Thailand Mozambique The Bosch Trading team. L-R: Gustavo Gonçalves Ferreira, Augusto Cesar Faustino Junior and Andrei Henrique de Oliveira The company is committed to providing a complete solutions-service to customers. The team, with extensive experience in sugar, ethanol and power generation, keeps abreast with the latest global technologies for the extraction of cane juice – the main raw material for the production of sugar and ethanol. The company’s technical advisory service focuses on selecting and providing the correct component for each application and the importance of appropriate installation and maintenance procedures. This is to ensure efficient operational and extended service life of each component. Augusto Cesar Faustino - [email protected] This year Bosch Projects has successfully sold and commissioned 4 massecuite reheaters around the globe and have submitted propsals for another 4 units to customers who are keen on changing their current design to the Bosch Projects reheater. Clients are offered either a full turn key installation or the stand-alone equipment can be supplied. Neil du Plessis - [email protected] The team is testament to the true old cliché, “Customer is King”. New equipment being transported to factories Innovative Engineering for safe and efficient production South Africa The new FLEX plant, which has been designed by Bosch Engenharia and is currently under construction, will be the largest of the herbicide-producing plants, reaching a production capacity of up to 12 000 litres per hour. In addition, as its name suggests, this will be a flexible facility, able to produce many different herbicides. Swaziland Water conservation in the Amatole District It was critical in the plant design that the facility is not only compact, but must meet stringent quality, safety and environmental standards, as most raw materials are highly explosive. All components are certified as explosion- proof, with strict requirements for ease of cleaning and decontamination. Bosch Munitech was appointed by the Amatole District Municipality in the Eastern Cape to reduce water loss by replacing pipes as well as to implement a series of initiatives to improve the water loss situation in the area. This project was implemented by using local emerging contractors. The Water Conservation Demand Management turnaround strategy is to reduce water loss and increase revenue. The scope of work for this project is summarised below: • Mapping of the water network by in-house underground survey specialists. • Leak Detection of visible and underground leaks by our qualified leak detection technicians. • Status quo assessment of the water and waste water infrastructure. • Pressure management within each zone. • Replace aged infrastructure where necessary. • Improvements to the water distribution system. Bosch Munitech working with local emerging contractors to expose air valves Storage and formulation tanks in the Ihara herbicide factory Bosch Engenharia is currently working with Ihara, one of the largest producers of herbicides in Brazil. Bosch Engenharia was involved with the implementation of a new herbicides production facility, to complement the company’s existing plants, each of The project commenced in August 2018 and will be completed in July 2021. Sean Nel - [email protected] Local contractors assist exposing age old infrastructure for replacement which has the capacity to produce only one type of product. The company has several plants to meet the entire production process, with the largest facility producing approximately 5 000 litres of product per hour. For optimum safety, most stages of production will be automated, eliminating the presence of operators. The entire operation will be supervised from a safe room, free of explosive agents. The new plant is scheduled to com- mence production at the beginning of 2020. Fabio Bellam - [email protected]
