Congratulations to Rachel Dunn, Senior Pharmacy Technician, Tauranga Hospital who was awarded the Best Technician Presentation at the recent New Zealand Hospital Pharmacists’ Association (NZHPA) Conference. Rachel presented on a collaborative project using Midland education resources to develop and pilot one of the first electronic professional portfolios for Pharmacy Technicians across the country. Medical Director's VTE Prevention Prize awarded Dr Elias Chandran has won the inaugural Medical Director’s VTE Prevention prize. The Medical Director’s VTE Prevention prize was awarded to the prescriber who completed the VTE Prevention section of the medication chart most often during the auditing period 10 August – 20 September. Dr Chandran was presented with the prize, and a $50 coffee voucher, by Dr Lees before the RMO’s Meeting at Tauranga Hospital on Monday (25 September).
