By Drs Laura Mayhew and Aakash Chhibber Whakatāne Ball Committee 2016
On the eve of the Winter Solstice, the Ohope
International Golf Club was transformed into
a winter wonderland for Whakatāne Hospital’s
mid-winter ball.
More than one hundred guests from across the DHB were greeted
by the sublime acoustic set of Dr Peter Meffan (Tauranga).
A candle-lit wine and dine experience warmed hearts and tummies
and it wasn't long before the fancy foot work was heating up the dance
floor - just what the soul needed to shake off the winter doldrums!
A big shout out to everyone who made the effort to come out and
play, and also to the DHB for their help.
Looking forward to the Tauranga equivalent already!
Showing a bit of leg for hospice
Staff from the Paediatric and Medical Daystay Wards at Tauranga Hospital celebrated the shortest
day this year by wearing their shorts!
The move was in support of the inaugural Shorts4Waipuna fundraiser. Waipuna Hospice provides support and specialist medical care for
patients living with a life-limiting illness. Together the wards raised more than 300-dollars.
