The Transit Lounge team, Tauranga Hospital
You will find the Transit Lounge on the first floor, Tauranga Hospital. We are a small team of three
staff per shift (total team of six) but kept very busy helping patients who have been cleared for
discharge from the ward and ready to leave the hospital. We support the patient with the discharge
process and complete final cares such as giving the patient their final dose of IV antibiotics,
changing wound dressings, remove sutures, arranging transport and connecting patients with the
right support in the community. We are there with a cuppa if needed as well.
