This edition really celebrates the achievements of our
people. I congratulate those featured within these pages
who’ve opted to undergo further studies, upskilling and
expanding their health skills. Not only does this benefit each
of them individually but by them applying their new skills and

Creating our Culture new lead
Apiarist she may be outside working hours, but when she's at
work she's Angie Lund the new Programme Lead for Creating
our Culture.
Angie, currently working in People and Capability has taken
up this fixed term appointment for up to 12 months to integrate
the Creating our Culture work into the BOPDHB's business
processes.
Bringing to us her significant experience in organisational
development, Angie will continue to support P&C two days a
week.

The stories about our people taking on epic challenges as

part of their health journey also struck a chord with me. The
DHB team that participated in this year’s 100k gruelling Oxfam
trailwalker event takes me back to the time a few years ago
when I did the shorter (but also character building) 50k version
in appalling weather. It’s really inspiring to hear about the goals
people set themselves that contribute to keeping themselves fit
and healthy.
As we head towards winter, thinking about what we can all
do to stay well is front of mind. I’d encourage you all to take
advantage of the free flu shot service we have available here
at work for you, our contractors and volunteers. I’ve had mine.

Plenty it’s also a useful reminder to check your own and your

BOPDHB choir Vocal Chords sing some groovy tunes at Our
Place, Tauranga CBD earlier this month.

about 30 regulars.
Simon Musical Director Leon Gray has the knack of picking popular
songs that get the crowd moving.
The concert at Our Place had the crowd dancing to songs by
Stevie Wonder, Sam Smith, Santana, Sting, and ABBA to name
a few. Vocal Chords is a great way to mix and mingle with
