Study Funding By Christine Busby, Education Manager. A group of staff has been awarded from the Advanced Study Fund, Learning Scholarships and Whakatāne Staff Study Fund. We are lucky enough to receive sponsorship from Bay of Plenty Medical Research Trust, PurePrint, Farmers AutoVillage, Holland Beckett Lawyers and Guild and Spence Electricians. These are all long-standing sponsors who continue to support our staff year after year. This year we have seen a range of study choices, from practical hands on courses to some high level Doctorate study that will contribute to large pieces of work around capacity management as the DHB constantly evolves. Above: Garry McNicholl – Doctor of Health Science, Sarah Matthews – NZ Diploma in Sterilizing Technology and Bay of Plenty Medical Research Trustee, Eric Coleman. It’s fantastic to see so many staff committed to their studies and we recognise the commitment of these staff in continuing their study in their own time, big commitment from them, their managers, their families and friends. Applications for scholarships and study funding will be open again in late 2019. If you’re thinking of studying in 2020, this could be your year! Above: Julie Chapman, Karen Smith, Hillary Robinson, Alex Forsyth, Lucy Wong and Christine Busby. Hillary and Lucy both received Whakatāne Staff Study Funding and Learning Scholarships. Hillary is studying towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Imaging; Lucy is doing a Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy.
