Pitt after being together for almost a decade. Although Angelina cited ‘irreconcilable differences’
as the reason of the split, she did not delve into further
details. However, speculations are making rounds that
one of the Hollywood’s most glamorous and powerful
couples may have split up due to the following reasons:
1. Parenting style
Angelina, who’s trying to set an example as a doting
mother, was reportedly upset with Brad’s parenting style,
Mirror reported. Earlier, in an interview with E! News,
Brad called himself a “disciplinarian” for the “strict” childhood he had. “I am [a disciplinarian] with the boys. Girls
do no wrong so I don’t have to be,” said Brad. “I feel like
my job is to show them around, help them find what they
want to do with their life, put as many things in front of
them, and pull them back when they get out of line, so
they know who they are.” A source confirmed the discipline issue saying, “Brad has always been stricter. He
has wanted the kids to have more structure. Brad will
get frustrated sometimes and yell at the kids. Angelina
always has a more relaxed attitude when it comes to the
kids. She definitely never yells,” People reported. Angelina’s manager Geyer Kosinski also released a statement, saying: “Angelina will always do what’s in the best
interest to protect her children,” reports Daily Mail.
2. Substance abuse
A recent report states that Angelina was “fed up” with
Pitt’s marijuana and alcohol use, TMZ reported. “This
decision was made for the health of the family. She will
not be commenting, and asks that the family be given
its privacy at this time,” Angelina’s attorney Robert Offer
said in a statement. However, Daniel Beck, who specialises in California medical marijuana law, claimed allegations of substance abuse doesn’t lead to divorce.
However, it may have an impact on the custody battle
of their children. “Marijuana, like any other substance,
can be abused,” Beck said. “The question is, what is the
effect on the children? Even if someone has a medicinal
[marijuana] card, if they imbibe with the children in the
room, that could be looked at as something that is not in
the children’s best interest,” he added according to The
Guardian.
3. Difference in priorities
Angelina’s renewed focus on health could also have led
to the trouble in the couple’s paradise. “When Angelina
underwent her mastectomy in 2013, her health and life in
general became a priority for her,” a source close to the
couple told DailyMail.“Her views on life changed. Suddenly she saw herself walking in her late mother’s shoes
– and she was no longer that wild, fun loving woman she
used to be, she was taking things a lot more seriously.
“Angelina wasn’t really interested in doing any project
that took her away from the children and home, but Brad
was still wanting the wanderlust, adventure-filled life
that first attracted him to her. “Brad was supportive, and
wanted to be there for her, so they decided to marry –
more for the sake of their six children than themselves.
They wanted the kids to have the security of knowing
their parents were committed because they had been
very affected by the their mom’s ill health.”
4. Cheating
It is also being reported that with the help of a private
spy, Angelina discovered that Brad might be cheating
on her with Marion Cotillard. Both the actors are starring together in Allied. A source claimed that Angelina refused to speak to the French star on the sets of the film
because of her jealousy. “Angelina completely ignored
Marion on the set, and when Marion tried to talk to her
she just looked the other way,” the source was quoted
as saying, Page Six reported.
“Marion was devastated. Here she is thinking she is going to meet this great UN ambassador and instead Angelina refuses to speak to the woman because of her
own jealousy,” the source added. However, the source
claimed that the rumours of Brad and Marion love affair are “100 per cent false”. “Marion and Guillaume are
blissfully happy, and these kind of claims are not what
Marion wants to be hearing,” a source told DailyMail.
“Claims that she’s cheating on Guillaume with Brad will
leave her absolutely devastated. This doesn’t sound like
her at all,” the source added.
