IN-STALL SPRING HAS SPRUNG AT BOOKPLATE PETA RUDD LARISSA HRSTIC The arrival of spring is an exciting time of year. As the weather warms, people’s moods start to lift and the promise of new beginning dawns. A multitude of colours and fragrances that were so absent during winter, begin to emerge. When we think of spring, we think of the excitement as summer starts to draw near. One of the best things about warmer weather is spending time in nature. Picnics with loved ones, walks by the lake and fresh blooms on the table. Our inspiration for this month’s artist’s installation came from these very sentiments. Drawing on the journey from spring to summer, we have chosen to incorporate bolder splashes of colour and illustrate the natural beauty of an alfresco lifestyle. We have included spring blooms such as dahlias and tulips in clashing bursts of sorbet yellows, oranges and hot pinks. The wild trailing foliage mimics the experience of being outdoors in an overgrown garden. The sweet fragrance of wattle and blossom can be captured in the Library’s foyer, inviting you into BOOKPLATE. We hope it inspires you to celebrate our story of spring! 4 images Hilary Wardhaugh, styling Peta Rudd, florals Larissa Hrstic & quote typography Georgia Vickers 5
