With spring slowly making its way to Canberra, we spoke to two local
fashionistas, Taylor Pitsilos from Designer Op Shop Braddon and ‘A
Stylish Moment’ blogger Jemma Mrdak.
“Must-have colours,” Jemma explains “include blush pinks and
burgundies. Tones that can be paired with neutral colours, to provide
an overall juxtaposition of colour.”
IN-STYLE
“Spring is a great time for experimenting with prints, colours, textures
and accessories, as it allows you to really step outside your comfort
zone with your styling. Some of these spring trends are a refresh on
old ones, and others are completely new,” says Jemma.
Even as trends come and go through the seasons, the best part of
these spring trends is that they are 100% wearable and easy to pair
with items you may already have in your wardrobe!
OUR FLING WITH SPRING
BE BOLD, BE BRAVE.
“This spring, floral prints and patterns take a new path, with the
introduction of dark florals and bold, micro printing,” says Taylor
who also suggests to look out for shirts and dresses that showcase
dark florals, with intricate patterns.

Both agree that texture is very much on trend, with ruffles, brocading,
tassels and silk. “Style your ruffles soft and loose, and allow them to
fall in gathers. Silk, tassels and ruffles all provide great shape to any
look, and adding texture can make any outfit ultra feminine,” Taylor
advises.
