Assessment
Measuring student comprehension is essential for good instruction. If you can understand
exactly which students “get it” and which ones doesn’t, or which parts of your content are
clear and which parts aren’t, you can fine-tune your teaching and differentiate instruction.
For many years, we accomplished assessment with paper and pencil tests, verbal
questioning, or reading students’ body language. All of these are still perfectly
good ways of monitoring students’ understanding.
To create a single collection of
assessment tools is more and more
challenging, because in recent years tools that help teachers with assessment
became very numerous. Below there is a selection of 3 formative assessment
tools for your class, tested during LTTA C2 in Poland.
