26HORROR To Be Read Catalog

Rex Monstra is a supernatural horror story weaved within the tapestry of human history . Within the pages , you follow Baron Gilles De Rais , the terrible being he summons , and all those who try so hard to stop the tragedy that follows , and slowly find the uglier sides of humanity revealed to you . Yet , even in the darkest of places , to those grotesque menageries of monstrous human fault that are illustrated within Rex Monstra ’ s pages , there is the light of hope . Those good qualities within our fellow human beings that truly give life meaning .
The story was heavily inspired by gaps in French history where the church tried to cover up the fact that one of their crusaders had lost their mind and tried to summon a demon , and in the ugliness and beauty we can find within one another . I was always find that that beauty and ugliness seemed to be tied together , and bring hope and despair in cycles . After all , humans have a talent to surprise us with their grace just as they shock us with their cruelty and close-minded hatred .

Blood and marriage are among the most notable , but the tying of these strings always meant the same thing : a bond . He had created a bond , as so many humans do . Bonds of blood , marriage , love , fate , loyalty , they could all be seen within this simple knot of red string . This was the first part of The Kindly One ’ s truth , a thing of undeniable beauty .
Then , he cut it . This act seemed to shock the very world into silence . His act brought about the unnatural silence ; severing the bond he had just created .
This was the truth of the one this man wanted to summon : what is formed will always break . The vows of marriage are no more sacred than the very moment they are forsaken , and brothers of blood no more loyal to each other than a starving dog feasting upon the body of its dead kin . As the man recognized this truth he cut deep into the fabric of our world , wounding it in ways he could not see , but could not help but feel . Somewhere in the room the nobleman could feel the skin and flesh of reality torn open , a long gash carved into the world that had borne him , had given the man air to breath and food to eat , but there was no scream ...
