"Call of the Wild"
My book was titled "Call of the Wild and other stories" and the author was Jack London. The book was published in 1993 by Grosset and Dunlap and it has 187 pages with a price of $3.99. What really caught my attention was that it was a fiction book about a dog, and the cover of the book had a man with 9 other dogs sledding and buck was the first dog in line. I would reccomend it to people who like fiction stories.
The main character was a dog named Buck who was dognapped because he was a special dog breed . The man in red would always watch him, but Buck didnt obey a lot so the man in red would club him over the head or choke him. While Buck was there he made 2 enemies, the man and a dog named Spits, he also made 3 friends named Curly, Billie and Joe. They traveled through snowy, freezing, and harsh conditions and if a dog wouldnt keep on going then they were clubbed to death, but luckily no dogs died.
I would say it was an extraordinary book because it made me feel like even a dog is your friend when nobody else likes you. My favorite part was when Buck ran away and he joined other people who were nicer sled dog racers. My least favorite part of the book was when Billie and Joe were dead after two weeks of non stop work and no food. The moral of the story was that you should never give up because you can accomplish something impossible even if other people think you cant accomplish that goal.
